Depending on the size of your dog, the three main dog food box sizes are designed to stay fresh for 6-8 weeks after opening or 12 months unopened.
Is Sundays dog food raw?
Technically yes! Sundays For Dogs dog food can technically be classified as a raw diet because it’s made with raw ingredients and is cooked/air-dried so gently. I would say that it’s more of a soft jerky-type dry food made with raw, human-grade ingredients.
Sundays For Dogs Reviews
Sundays For Dogs dog food starts with human-grade ingredients that meet FDA safety standards of “fit for human consumption” and contains NO synthetic additives.
Ingredients are mixed together and are then air-dried to preserve nutrients and lock in flavor while gently dehydrating the food at a low temperature over a long period of time. This creates shelf-stable, dry dog food that is easily stored in the pantry, not the fridge, with no prep or clean-up.
Best of all, Sundays For Dogs has a great jerky-like taste and texture (so I am told) and they say it is perfect for picky eaters.
For our Sundays For Dogs reviews, we tried a 36 oz box of their new Chicken flavor dog food, a 40 oz box of their Beef flavor, and a 72 oz box of the Turkey flavor dog food. SHOP NOW >>
Sundays For Dogs comes in three flavors, beef, chicken, and turkey. See below for a full list of ingredients that look more like a salad than dry dog food.
Sundays For Dogs is good for picky eaters as it has a great jerky taste and texture and for those with sensitive stomachs, the pre-biotics, pumpkin, and ginger help make the food easier to digest.
In addition, the fruits and veggies are packed with antioxidants as well as glucosamine and chondroitin for joint health and fatty acids for shiny coats.
Plus, Sundays have a softer texture which is good for senior dogs or dogs that have dental issues. SHOP NOW >>
What’s more important, though, is what Sundays For Dogs doesn’t contain! This dog food DOES NOT contain gluten, legumes, wheat, soy, rice, corn, potatoes, dairy, added colors, meat meals, ingredients from China, preservatives, chemicals, artificial flavors, or synthetics.
For all of our dog food reviews, we give our Daisy the new dog food as a topper so as to not upset her stomach.
We then look to see if she is excited/interested in the new food, if this new food gives her any tummy troubles over the course of 2 weeks, and how the new food affects her stool.
Daisy LOVES this kibble! She tried both flavors and didn’t seem to prefer one over the other.
In addition, over the course of the week, Daisy tolerated this new food very well and had no stomach issues.
We didn’t see any major changes in her stool, which is a good thing and will continue to monitor her over the next several weeks.
And while our Daisy really enjoyed Sundays For Dogs dog food, the price is too expensive for us to continue. You see Daisy is 90+ lbs and 11 years old and would need one and a half 144oz boxes per month which would come out to about $300 per month ($4.26 per meal for Chicken and $4.74 per meal for Beef). This is a lot more than what we are paying now for our kibble.
We do like the idea of feeding Sundays For Dogs as a meal topper or as a healthy treat and Sundays For Dogs offers a la carte/one-time purchase options so we aren’t locked into regular deliveries. SHOP NOW >>
Sundays For Dogs delivers “The World’s Cleanest Dog Food” directly to your door. This air-dried dog food is healthier than kibble, easier to store than fresh or raw food, and a lot less work than home-cooked, fresh wet, or raw food.
We like that Sundays For Dogs dog food is an air-dried kibble that can be stored in the pantry with no prep and no cleanup required. We also like that this food is made with all-natural, human-grade ingredients without anything artificial or feed-grade. Finally, the taste and texture are great for picky eaters, our Daisy is not picky at all, but we know other dogs that are and appreciate the fact that Sundays For Dogs is more like a treat than traditional kibble.
And though our Daisy loved this new food during our Sundays For Dogs reviews process, the cost for us to feed our almost 100lb dog would be around $9 per day or $270 per month. This is expensive and not in the budget for most large dog owners. We would consider feeding Sundays For Dogs as a topper to save while giving our Daisy great-tasting quality food and/or buying a la carte and giving it to our Daisy as a healthy treat.
In addition, box sizes are very small. For those with large dogs or multiple dogs, this means more deliveries and more packaging to deal with.
Compared to other premium dog food, Sundays For Dogs dog food is in the middle of the price range but has the shortest ingredient list of any of the dry/kibble food we reviewed. Read our Premium Dog Food Post to compare for yourself.
We recommend Sundays For Dogs to dog parents looking for premium dog food that is made with natural ingredients, is easy to store in the pantry, and needs no prep or clean up. In addition, we would recommend Sundays For Dogs for those with picky eaters, sensitive stomachs, or small dogs where cost is less of a factor. SHOP NOW >>
