Store your Sprinly meals in the fridge until you are ready to eat. Some of the meals may be labeled “eat first” which are best when consumed within 2-3 days of delivery. Most meals will keep for 5-6 days but everything should be eaten within the week it was delivered.

Each Sprinly meal is well labeled with the name of the dish, ingredients, nutritional values, and reheating instructions. There are also fun facts on each box that are interesting to read while you eat.  Follow the package directions to heat up your meal either in the microwave or stovetop, there are instructions for both. If you chose a salad option (there is one every week), you can simply pour on the dressing and enjoy. It only takes a few minutes to prepare a Sprinly meal since all the cooking has already been done for you!

For our Sprinly reviews, we chose the 6 meal plan and picked one of each vegan meal option to try. Here is a little more about what we received and what we thought of each Sprinly meal.   Save $30 now >>

Sprinly Reviews: Vegan Mac and Cheese with Steamed Broccoli

The vegan mac and cheese with steamed broccoli was the first meal we tried. It came with fresh broccoli florets, cooked elbow macaroni noodles, plant-based “bacon bits” and vegan “parmesan”. To prepare the dish, we opted for the microwave reheat method. The pasta and broccoli were mixed in a dish, covered, and then heated for 2 minutes. The ‘cheese’ sauce was poured over the top, and heated for 30 more seconds. Then, we sprinkled the toppings over the plate and it was ready to eat!

We were super impressed with this mac and cheese. The broccoli was perfectly cooked and a nice, bright green. The pasta was the best tasting gluten-free pasta we have ever tried. The texture was identical to “regular” pasta and not sticky or gummy like other gluten-free options we have tasted. The “bacon” bits were nice and crunchy as was the parmesan crumble. In our opinion, there could have been a little more “cheese” taste or possibly some more sauce. The nutritional yeast flavor was good but the overall flavor was a little more nutty than cheesy. However, for a vegan, gluten-free mac and cheese, it was pretty darn good!  Save $30 now >>

Sprinly Reviews: Roasted Acorn Squash with Hazelnuts, Lemon Vinaigrette and Quinoa

The next meal we tried was a maple roasted acorn squash that was served with quinoa, chopped hazelnuts, and some curly, baby kale. The squash still had the skin on which was nice for presentation but maybe something that could be removed to make for easier eating. We warmed the squash and quinoa in the microwave then served it next to the kale. We drizzled the tasty lemon dressing over the whole dish.

This was a perfect lunch-sized meal. It was very flavorful and the squash, kale, and quinoa were perfect together. I would need a little something more if this was going to be served as a dinner. However, the taste was incredible, there was a nice amount of crunchy thanks to the nuts and everything was cooked to perfection. Save $30 now >>

Sprinly Reviews: Paprika Spinach Salad With Baked Tofu and Hemp Hearts

Sprinly gives a fresh salad option each week and this was our week’s salad. There was no reheating necessary and you could really eat it right out of the box. We chose to use a real plate, though, and sprinkle the veggies, tofu, and dressing together out of the box. The bright colors of the cabbage, peppers, and carrots looked great and they were all super fresh.

We loved the crunch vegetables and the soft tofu. The paprika dressing was very flavorful and also original. The dressing is really what brought this dish to life! We loved Sprinly’s addition of hemp hearts which add some plant-based protein to the dish. Overall, it was a very tasty, filling salad. The quality was great and the portion was just right.  Save $30 now >>

Sprinly Reviews: Mediterranean Veggie Kofta Crumble with Vegan Tzatziki and Cucumber Tomato Salad

Kofta is a kind of Indian meatball that is usually made with lamb or beef. However, this kofta was made with veggies and nuts. The kofta was served with golden turmeric rice, pickled cabbage, vegan tzatziki sauce, and a cold cucumber salad. The kofta crumble and rice was covered and heated in the microwave and then the cabbage, salad, and dressing were poured over the top.

We loved the cold cucumber salad with warm rice and kofta. Everything on this dish was incredibly flavorful and paired so well together to make a unique and exciting meal. To make this on your own would take hours but with Sprinly, it was ready in about three minutes! The veggie kofta tasted almost identical to a meat-based meatball. The tzatziki sauce was a little watery but it still had a good flavor. The color of the pickled cabbage was beautiful and it added a nice tang to the dish. We can see why this is a Sprinly customer favorite.  Save $30 now >>

Sprinly Reviews: Enchilada Casserole with Green Peppers and “Queso”

Next, we tried a veggie-packed enchilada meal that came with a good sized slice of enchilada casserole and a side salad. When we received our Sprinly box, the juices from the casserole had leaked out a little bit from the package. This was the only meal from Sprinly that we had this issue, but, a quick wipe on the outside of the box and we were ready to eat!

Since half of the meal needed to be reheated, the instructions recommended cutting the Sprinly package in half and heating the half with the enchilada casserole. This was super easy and the meal was ready to eat in about 2 minutes. We put the salad on the plate and topped it with the chopped green peppers and dressing. Since we had stored our meal in the fridge, the dressing was cold and solid. We should have let it come to room temperature or heated it slightly to make it more liquid, but it still tasted great! The pepitas added a good, salty crunch to the salad as well.

The tortillas in the enchilada casserole were very soft and broke apart easily. The casserole sauce was wonderfully rich and you could really taste the roasted peppers and tomatoes. The vegan enchilada casserole was pretty good. It was a little messier, so probably a good at-home option. You will definitely love the flavor and all the veggies that are packed into the box! Save $30 now >>

Sprinly Reviews: Zucchini and Carrot Pasta Marinara with Plantballs

sprinly-reviews-plantballs

We were excited to try Sprinly’s signature plantballs and they did not disappoint. To heat our meal, we plated the zucchini noodles and plantballs, covered the dish as instructed, and heated it in the microwave for two minutes. We poured the sauce over the top and heated it all for another thirty seconds. A little sprinkle of vegan parmesan crumble and we were ready to eat!

The zucchini noodles were very crisp and fresh. They were thick and could be compared to a fettuccine style noodle. The marinara sauce had a ton of shredded carrots but they were super soft and barely noticeable as we were eating. It was a great way to add a vegetable without altering the delicious flavor of the sauce. The plantballs were nice and tender and had a rich, nutty flavor. Two of the plantballs were plenty to fill you up and the whole meal was quite hearty. We love the vegan parmesan on top and wanted more! Overall, this was an amazing vegan pasta dish that made us feel like we were really eating healthy and enjoying every minute of it.  Save $30 now >>

Sprinly Reviews: Bottom Line

sprinly-reviews-organic-plant-based-prepared-meals-delivery

Sprinly vegan meals were certainly the highlight of our week. The meals were fresh, delicious, and very easy to make. Everything took less than 5 minutes to prepare and the ingredients were clearly high quality. Each dish was unique and the variety between the boxes kept mealtime interesting. We loved all of the plant-based creations and we were very impressed with the creativity in each meal.

If you are looking to add more veggies to your daily routine or if you want to follow a healthy, plant-based diet, Sprinly is a great choice for you. While the meals are on the expensive side compared to other prepared meal services that we’ve reviewed, the quality of the meals is very high. We wish that there were more than 6 meals to choose from each week and hope that as Sprinly grows they will add more meal options and expand delivery to the West Coast.
