Tayst Coffee Reviews
Tayst Coffee has reimagined the convenient single-serve coffee pod by not only filling it with sustainably sourced coffee beans but by making it 100% compostable. Unlike the plastic pods that are piling up in landfills all over the world, these pods give back nutrients to the soil as they decompose.
Unlike other coffee pod brands, Tayst brews their coffee every month to ensure that you receive fresh-roasted coffee with every delivery. They are also working with coffee farmers through the Rainforest Alliance, a non-profit that helps farmers improve their livelihoods, to grow and harvest the finest beans in South America free from agrochemicals.
Tayst currently offers 7 coffee blends including two full-bodied, dark blends, two medium-bodied blends, two flavored blends, Vintage Vanilla and Happy Hazelnut, and one decaf. SHOP NOW >>
For our Tayst Coffee reviews, we received the $25 Mixed Coffee Pods Gift.
This gift box includes 20 Cups of Mixed Coffees (10 Bold & Brazen dark blend and 10 Medium & Heroic medium blends), a Tayst Coffee Mug, along with a handwritten note all in eco-friendly packaging. SHOP NOW >>
Like most coffee companies, Tayst offers both dark and medium-bodied blends. The dark blend, as you would expect, is full-bodied, dark, and robust with rich bold flavors. Tayst has two dark blends, the Bold & Brilliant and the Bold & Brazen.
We tried the Bold & Brilliant and enjoyed this deep and complex brew with notes of earthy caramel and sweet black currants. We didn’t get an acidic taste that can come with a dark roast and really liked the sweet flavor that came through, with a slight bitterness. SHOP NOW >>
Tayst also offers two medium-bodied blends including the Medium & Heroic and the Medium & Magnificant. Tayst says their medium blends are smooth, deep, and mellow with earthy flavors shining through.
We tried the Medium & Heroic blend which is another bold blend, with slightly more acidity than the Bold & Brilliant, and a smooth finish.
We enjoyed drinking both coffee blends and didn’t have any trouble using these pods in our Keurig but did have to push down harder than usual to close the lid. SHOP NOW >>

We love the 100% compostable coffee pods and sustainably sourced coffee for a guilt-free cup of Joe every morning. Both of the blends that we tried were very flavorful and the pods fit nicely into our Keurig.
And while we love this eco-friendly coffee, we didn’t see any pods for Nespresso machines and shipping is an additional fee. The $8 trial offer with a free mug and free shipping is a great deal, but understand that you are signing up for a monthly subscription. GET MY $8 TRIAL BOX >>
Compared to other compostable coffee pods that we have reviewed, the price of Tayst Coffee is in line with other brands with the added benefit of freshly brewed coffee and eco-friendly packaging. We did, however, find compostable pods online that were less expensive, but without trying we can’t compare their taste, quality, or packaging.
We would recommend Tayst Coffee to any Keurig user who wants to cut back on single-use plastics while helping the planet, those who want sustainably sourced coffee in compostable pods with eco-friendly packaging any office that wants to do their part to help reduce the waste in our landfills.
