Knead Love Bakeshop was founded by three siblings, Sam (16), Ben (14), and Molly (11.5), and their dog Penny in St. Louis, Missouri. Sam, Ben, and Molly, like most pet parents, wanted the best for their dog and they were worried that what they were feeding her wasn’t healthy.
They found that most store-bought treats were not good for her and decided to bake their own.
With a lot of trial and error, the kids developed not only a healthy, organic, and delicious dog treat, but a fun and easy way to make them at home.
For our Knead Love Bakeshop reviews, we ordered the Beef Jerky & Cheese mix, the Peanut Butter & Banana mix, and the Chicken & Sweet Potato mix.

Baking your dog treats is super fun and easy. Using the instructions that come inside your package, or scan the QR code on the baking mix container, start by preheating your oven to 325 degrees and then remove the plastic wrapping from the outside of the container. SHOP NOW >>
Next, pop the top open and shake the bag and mix out into the bag and remove the bag from the container. Our piping bag was stuck shut and we had to pull it apart and let air in before the mix would fall in. Just be aware that it might not pop open for the mix to drop into.
Fill the container up to the line with water and add it to the bag. Knead/squeeze the bag until everything is combined (3 min). This is important as the dough will seem runny at first, but as you knead it comes together and thickens up so that you can more easily pipe it.
Cut the tip off of the bag and pipe the treats onto a greased baking sheet. SHOP NOW >>
Bake for 30 min for a normal dog treat and for 40 min for a crunchier treat. We baked our Beef & Cheese treats for 35 min and they were plenty crunchy for our Daisy. Turn off your oven and let your dog treats cool inside for a couple of hours.
This allows them to get even crunchier as all of the moisture continues to evaporate.
Finally, give a couple of treats to your furry friend. They will love them! Give yourself a pat on the back for making healthy, homemade dog treats for your dog right at home.

Knead Love Bakeshop says that one mix should make approximately 24 large treats, 36 medium treats, or 48 small treats. We found that this was true and that our mix made over 30 good size treats.
Once the treats are cool, store them in the container they came in in the refrigerator for up to one week. (Remember, these treats don’t have any preservatives, unlike store-bought treats so keep them in an air-tight container in the fridge!)
One of our only complaints is that the container could not fit all of our yummy treats. We would love a slightly larger container so that we can store all of the treats together. SHOP NOW >>

Knead Love Bakeshop dog treat baking mixes are a wonderful idea and make for a fantastic family activity. The treats are easy to make and come with everything you need (just add water) to bake healthy treats for your dog.
We love that the container doubles as a treat container after the treats are baked, reducing waste, but wish that it was slightly larger so that all of the yummy treats could fit inside. We also love that these treats are free from preservatives, added sugar or salt, and are made from all-natural, human-grade organic ingredients so that you can feel good about giving these to your furry friend.
