The Keto Diet

The keto diet has gained massive popularity in recent years with research that suggests that high levels of healthy fats and protein help curb hunger and that cutting carbohydrates coaxes the body into a state of ketosis, where the body burns fat for energy rather than sugars.

Keto subscribers base the majority of their diet on the following foods:

  • Fatty fish
  • Eggs
  • Unprocessed cheese
  • Meats
  • Butter and cream
  • Avocados
  • Nuts and seeds
  • Oils
  • Low-carbohydrate vegetables
  • Herbs and spices

Foods that are “off-limits” or significantly reduced on the keto diet include any high-carbohydrate foods, including:

  • Beans and legumes
  • Root vegetables, like potatoes and carrots
  • Grains and cereals
  • Low-fat dairy products
  • Unhealthy fats (i.e. mayonnaise)
  • Fruit (except small portions of low-sugar fruits like berries)
  • Condiments with sugars and unhealthy fats
  • Sugary foods
  • Alcohol

The keto diet is pretty restrictive, and it can be not easy to satisfy cravings without going over your daily carb limit. MealFinds allows you to compare meal services with Keto diet foods to help you stick to your diet and reach your goals.

Daily Harvest: Best Keto Lunch

Our Favorite: Cauliflower Rice + Kimchi Harvest Bowl

Ever tried kimchi? It’s the tangy, spicy, and delicious version of Korean “sauerkraut,” made from fermented cabbage and brimming with probiotic goodness.

Cauliflower rice is the lower-carb, grain-free alternative to rice here. It tastes stunning as cauliflower “fried rice,” and it rivals the take-out dish and offers added fiber, vitamins, and minerals to help prevent disease and increase energy levels.

Factor: Best Keto Dinner

Our Favorite: Argentinian Steak with Chimichurri

This flavorful dinner features grass-fed steak with a side of broccoli, roasted mushrooms, and bell peppers alongside a chimichurri sauce made from fresh parsley and garlic.  A low-carb and protein-packed dinner with tons of flavor!

Keto Box: Best Keto Snacks

Keto Box offers lots of sweet and savory snack options for when you’re having a carby craving! Past boxes have included items like black pepper crunchy cheese crisps, parmesan pork rinds, and even Moon cheese.

Catalina Crunch:  Best Keto Dessert

Catalina Crunch brings you the world’s first keto sandwich cookie!

Dark chocolate cookie crunch from Dutch cocoa powder combined with a rich vanilla cream filling, minus all of the sugar normally found in these cookies, make for a tasty and keto-friendly treat.
