Carnivore Club Box Review: Snack Box

Our Snack Box included 5x 1oz meat sticks from Mythical Meats and 3x 2.5 oz bags of jerky from People’s Choice Beef Jerky.

The People’s Choice Beef Jerky included Nashville Hot Beef Jerky, Carne Seca Limon Con Chile Beef Jerky, and Garlic Ginger Beef Jerky.  People’s Choice Beef Jerky, located in Los Angeles, CA, is a family-owned business that has been making handcrafted beef jerky since 1929.  SHOP NOW >>

  • Nashville Hot:  Spicy!  Cayenne pepper packs the smokey heat in this jerky.  This jerky was a little too spicy for me, but my husband loved it.
  • Carne Seca Limon Con Chile: The red pepper and black pepper bring some heat, with the guajillo chili powder providing deep rich flavor with a touch of lemon.  We all enjoyed this jerky!  Not too spicy, but packed with flavor.
  • Garlic Ginger:  Our favorite!  Savory and sweet with a garlic taste and a ginger zing.

Next up, we tried the exotic meat jerky from Mythical Meats.  Mythical Meats combines their passion for jerky with their love for magical creatures.  They have reimagined exotic game meats as some of the most beloved mythical creatures to bring you super fun, and tasty, meat sticks.  SHOP NOW >>

    • Griffin: Ostrich
    • Basilisk: Alligator Mild w/ Beef
    • Chupacabra: Chorizo Mexican Style
    • Loch Ness Monster: Beef & Mild Buffalo
    • Werewolf: Venison Teriyaki

My son was really excited to try these meat sticks both because of the fun names, like Werewolf, and because of the exotic meat like Ostrich and Alligator and they did not disappoint!

My husband, son, and I had an exotic jerky tasting one afternoon.  My son’s favorite was the Werewolf/Venison Teriyaki with a slightly sweet flavor and no gamey taste at all.  The Chupacabra had a nice spicy kick and definitely tasted like Mexican-style chorizo.  I really liked the Basilisk/Alligator as well as the Griffin/Ostrich.  SHOP NOW >>

We enjoyed the unique snack assortment in this box and the fact that it came with both bagged jerky and meat sticks (both perfect for snacking or taking with you on the go!).

When we added up the cost for the products included in our box from pricing on The People’s Choice and Mythical Meats sites, the cost would be around $30.50 ($18 for the jerky and $12.50 for the meat sticks) before tax or shipping.

The cost of a Carnivore Club Snack Box is $24.99 + shipping and is a great value for the items that we received. We saved over 15% OFF retail!  SHOP NOW >>

Carnivore Club Box Review: Classic Box

Our Classic Box included 5 items from Soupie Brothers.  Soupie Brothers, from Mount Carmel, PA, deliver delicious Italian-style, dry-cured meats to your door.

Their Soupie recipe for cured meat dates back to when Italian immigrants came to the United States to work in the coal mines and were originally created as a portable snack with a long shelf life for those working in the mines.

This recipe and tradition made its way to the Pennsylvania coal region and the Soupie Brothers are excited to share it.  SHOP NOW >>

    • Original Soupie Sausage: Authentic Italian dry-cured meat is made with ham, tenderloin, and pork butts
    • Chorizo Salami:  A Spanish classic with hints of fresh paprika and a rich smokiness

    • Smoked Soupie Sticks: Like the Original Soupie, but in an on-the-go snack stick
    • Beef Landjaeger Sticks: German-style beef stick made through a long smoking session with a natural smoke flavor
    • Spicy Salametti: Cold smoked salami with mild heat and a smokey flavor

We decided to have a Soupie cured meat tasting, pairing the meat with vodka martinis, cheese, and grapes. Yum!  Overall, this meat was delicious with a rich flavor throughout.  The Soupie sticks and Original Soupie were wonderful and are perfect on a salad, paired with cheese for lunch, or as a snack on the go.

The Chorizo packs some spice as does the Spicy Salametti, which my husband loved.  I really enjoyed the Smoked Soupie sticks for their rich smokey taste as well as the Beef Landjager for the same reason.

When we added up the cost for the products included in our box from pricing on the Soupie Brothers site, the retail cost would be around $41 before tax or shipping.
The cost of a Classic Carnivore Club Box is $39.99 + shipping and is 5% OFF over retail pricing!SHOP NOW >>

The Classic box makes for a wonderful gift and is also perfect for enjoying with a nice cheese board, red wine, and good friends. To have new, exclusive, premium cured meats delivered every month would certainly be a treat for any meat-lover.

We love to support small businesses and think that a Carnivore Club allows us to do just that while experiencing new and interesting meat each month.  And while we really enjoyed both of the Carnivore Club boxes, I would like to be able to reorder our favorites on the Carnivore Club website instead of tracking them down online. SHOP NOW >>

    Carnivore Club Box Review: Marketplace

If you are not ready to sign up for a subscription box just yet and want to enjoy premium cured meats take a look at the Carnivore Club Marketplace.  Here you can order a la carte.

Some of the items that caught our eye are the Wild Game Meats Sampler and the Mega Meat Bundle.

Wild Game Meats Sampler ($64.99): This sampler includes 12 wild game meat items in various sizes as well as a 20L Dry Bag.  Have you ever tasted a Jackalope?  Here’s your chance!

    Carnivore Club Box Review: Gifting

Carnivore Club has several gifting options.  You can gift a snack or classic box, give a subscription gift card, or give a gift from the Marketplace.

Some of our favorite Marketplace gifts include:

    Exotic Jerky Bouquet ($44.99)

    • Featured in our Food Gifts Galore gift guide

Carnivore Club Box Review: Bottom Line

Carnivore Club lives up to its promise of delivering exclusive, unique, premium cured meats to your door.

We love that they support small artisan businesses and that you can discover new products every month with a subscription.  We only wish that we can reorder our favorites through the Carnivore Club website.

With savings of between 5-15% over retail pricing, Carnivore Club is a decent value for your money.
