Brodo Bone Broth Reviews

Brodo creates flavorful, nutritious bone broths. The company was founded by award-winning chef Marco Canora who started serving bone broth out of a window in New York City. Since then, Brodo has grown into a bone broth icon.

With several storefronts in NYC and an online ordering hub, Brodo has made it very easy to get the amazing bone broth you have been searching for. Shop now >>

Brodo makes bone broth the way it has been made for centuries. Real bones are slow-simmered for up to 24 hours. Each broth is hand stirred and skimmed to remove impurities. There are no preservatives, concentrates, or shortcuts. Just natural, pure ingredients.

All of the beef bones come from 100% grass-fed animals raised on pastures. The poultry is certified organic and also pasture-raised. All the poultry is fed a vegetarian diet free of GMOs, antibiotics, and pesticides. Brodo intentionally uses bones that are meaty and suitable for making the best broth.

Fresh, whole-cut vegetables are added to the bone broth to give it more flavor and nutritional value. There is even a vegetarian, boneless broth option made completely from organic vegetables. Once the ingredients are all in a pot, the same quantity of water is added, equaling ½ pound of whole ingredients per 8 ounces cup of broth. While the clear, end result may look simple, there is actually a lot that goes into making each cup of broth! Brodo has certainly perfected the process. Shop now >>

Bone Broth Health Benefits

Bone broth has been a remedy for ailments for centuries. Today, bone broth is thought to play a role in reducing inflammation, alleviating joint pain, and promoting more restful sleep. And, compared to other broths, bone broth contains more protein and collagen per serving which may help improve skin, bone, and joint health.

For our Brodo review, we received 6-22oz containers of broth including two Organic Chicken, two Hearth, one Beef, and one Vegan Seaweed and Mushroom broth. Shop now >>

Brodo Chicken Bone Broth Review

Brodo Chicken Bone Broth is made with organic chicken bones and feet, organic carrots, organic onions, organic celery, Himalayan sea salt, organic black peppercorn, and organic bay leaves.

The broth is a light yellow color and perfectly clear. It looks like chicken soup but without any add-ins or extra ingredients- just pure broth.

I heated the chicken bone broth in the microwave, cooking it from frozen in the original container. It took about 6 minutes to thaw and get nice and hot. I enjoyed the broth plain, with a spoon as if it were a soup.

The broth tasted like a perfect chicken soup but without the pieces of vegetables or chicken. It was very drinkable and I could see why Brodo used to serve their broth in to-go cups! There was enough broth in the container for two large servings.

While this broth was delicious straight from the container, it would be great with pieces of chicken, vegetables, or noodles added in. It could be used to make risotto or as the base for other soups. Shop now >>

Brodo Hearth Bone Broth Review

Brodo Hearth Bone Broth is made with organic chicken, beef bones, organic turkey legs, organic onions, organic celery, organic tomato paste, sea salt, organic peppercorns, and organic bay leaves.

The broth is a clear, light brown color and is quite gelatinous before heating. Once hot, it becomes a nice smooth liquid.

I thawed the hearth bone broth in the fridge overnight then poured it into a saucepan to heat on the stovetop. I cooked some short noodles to add to the broth, boiling the noodles in a separate pot and adding them to the broth once cooked.

The hearth bone broth was rich and savory. It had a more complex flavor than the chicken bone broth and was definitely more hearty. The noodles made the broth more like a soup and a little more filling. The container was enough to serve two adults large bowls of broth.

I also used the hearth bone broth to make a savory oatmeal recipe. I boiled the broth in a saucepan then added uncooked, quick oats. Once cooked, I stirred some cheddar cheese into the oatmeal.  In a separate pan, I sauteed some onions and peppers then fried and egg in the same pan. The flavor of the bone broth made the oatmeal incredible. It was rich and almost like eating a healthier version of home fries and eggs. Shop now >>

Brodo Vegan Seaweed & Mushroom Broth Review

Brodo Vegan Seaweed and Mushroom Broth is made with organic onion, organic carrot, organic celery, shitake mushrooms, organic tomatoes, dried kelp, sea salt, and water.

The broth is a deep brown color and has a very powerful, wonderful smell.

We kept it simple by heating this broth in the microwave and then enjoying it in a bowl with a spoon. The flavor of the broth was very unique and the mushroom taste was very present. The broth had the earthy, distinct taste of mushrooms and seaweed. You definitely did not need to add anything to this broth to give it flavor- it was incredibly flavorful already!

We could definitely see adding some chopped, sauteed veggies to the vegan broth to make it more like a soup, giving you a complete and filling meal. Zucchini, asparagus and sauteed peppers would all taste great with this broth. Even just the addition of cooked, sliced mushrooms would be amazing! Shop now >>

Brodo Grass-Fed Beef Bone Broth Review

Brodo Grass-Fed Beef Bone Broth is made with beef bones from 100% grass-fed cattle, organic carrots, organic onions, organic celery, organic ginger juice, organic tomato paste, sea salt, organic peppercorns, and organic bay leaves.

The broth is a deep brown color, thick and gelatinous when cold but clear and smooth when warm.

I made the beef bone broth by heating it in a small saucepan over the stovetop. I sipped the broth like a soup, using a spoon and bowl. However, I decided to pour the broth into a mug halfway through eating and drank it instead! The broth was very rich and warming. The bone broth was perfectly seasoned and needed nothing added in. The ginger juice was a very nice touch.

This beef bone broth would be perfect to use as a base for any kind of soup. I would also recommend drinking it like a coffee, just as Brodo serves in NYC! It is filling, warming, and good for you! Shop now >>

Brodo Bone Broth Reviews: Bottom Line

Brodo delivers high-quality bone broth right to your door. They use organic ingredients to create four unique flavors of bone broth. The broth is ready to drink or eat right out of the container. It is also fantastic to use in all kinds of recipes, adding nutrition and flavor to anything you make.

We loved the rich, flavorful taste of each bone broth. They were all interesting and had very different flavor profiles. The broth tasted delicious right out of the container and needed no additional seasonings or additions. You could just heat and enjoy! We also love how easy it was to make a meal that is so healthy, so quickly. Any of these broths would be great to have on hand as an easy meal for when you are sick or just simply too busy to cook!

The price of the broth is on the higher side however the high price tag is justified by the quality of the ingredients and taste of the broth. We wish there were other options on Brodo’s site like hearty soups. More choices would make it very easy to fill that 30 pack box!

We would definitely recommend Brodo Bone Broth to anyone who loves healthy, nutritious, and great tasting food. Having Brodo broth in my freezer helped me quickly make many lunches, made a delicious addition to several recipes, and also helped me cure a sore throat! Buy a few containers of Brodo just to have on hand. We promise you will use them and love the broth with every sip! Shop now >>

Enjoy!
